<h2>Legal</h2>

All trademarks are owned by their respective owners. Soundfont is a trademark of E-mu Systems Inc.<p>

SqueekySynth design and code copyright (c) 2006 Cyan Helkaraxe.<p>

The FluidSynth library used by this application is loaded at run-time, not dynamically or statically linked. SqueekySynth does not contain any element of the FluidSynth code, therefore is exempt from the FluidSynth license agreement.<p>

See the "COPYING" and "FluidSynth License (COPYING)" files in the directory "Support Files/Libraries/" for the FluidSynth library license agreement. This applies solely to the FluidSynth library, not to SqueekySynth. You may distribute the FluidSynth library alone, under the terms of its license agreement.<p>

The sourcecode for the FluidSynth library is available at the FluidSynth home page (http://www.fluidsynth.org/). Future versions of SqueekySynth may use modified, upgraded copies of the FluidSynth library, and for these, the sourcecode will be made available separately. See the FluidSynth home page for a list of authors, changelogs and news updates, details about the library features, etc.<p>

If any legal situation were to arise concerning FluidSynth, then it shall not affect SqueekySynth or its developer. Likewise, if a given situation were to arise with SqueekySynth, it shall not affect the FluidSynth developers. The two pieces of software are separate and distinct.<p>

<h3>DISCLAIMERS</h3>
This application is provided to you for use free of charge, with
no warranty. Liability is strictly limited to 0 GBP/USD/etc.
No guarantees are made at all. This software may or may not be
functional -- it is given to you free of charge, AS-IS.<p>

This software could do anything, or may do nothing at all. It may
(but is not guaranteed to) fail to perform and/or destroy/harm/
injure/kill/hurt anyone and/or anything, distribute any data,
and/or allow your computer system to be exploited and/or compromised
in any number of ways.<p>

<h3>Patent Information</h3>

As far as the author of SqueekySynth is aware, this software (specifically SqueekySynth) does not infringe upon any patents; indeed, some effort has been made to ensure
that no patented technologies have been used, although due to
limited resources it is obviously difficult to know for certain.
However, it is the user's responsibility to ensure that they are
not infringing upon any patents by using this software. See the
disclaimers and license section for more very important information.
This software is released from Europe, where pure software is
generally regarded as unpatentable, and as such should only be
used within Europe. It is beyond the capabilities of the author of SqueekySynth
to effectively control how and where this programme is used,
therefore users should be expected to exercise caution.<p>

If a patent infringement is found with the FluidSynth library, this should be taken up with the FluidSynth developers, as SqueekySynth uses FluidSynth strictly as an external component.<p>

<h3>LICENSE AGREEMENT</h3>

By using SqueekySynth you agree to the following:<p>

<ol>
<li>
You will not infringe on the copyright of SqueekySynth.
Copying or creating derivative works of this software (specifically SqueekySynth, not the FluidSynth library) outside of the scope of the license (see below) is prohibited.
</li>
<li>
You accept the disclaimer and patent information.
</li>
<li>
You accept the FluidSynth license agreement, as applied to FluidSynth, and will not infringe upon it.
</li>
<li>
You accept all other requirements in the legal section of the manual (the page you are reading now), and will not seek to exploit loopholes or pursue legal action against the developer of SqueekySynth or the developers of FluidSynth.
</li>
</ol>

<b>Copying:</b><p>
You are permitted to distribute SqueekySynth providing it
remains unmodified, inside the original zip file, with the
unmodified executable binary and library, and unmodified manual files (the modified library file, if you create one, can of course be distributed without SqueekySynth, under the terms of the FluidSynth license agreement).<p>
The author's name or title of SqueekySynth must never be
misrepresented or disguised in any way; e.g., redistribution must
always carry the title of the application and SqueekySynth author's
name if appropriate in that medium.<p>

Repackaging of SqueekySynth or pre-installing onto
"distributions" is prohibited without permission, although you
may wish to attempt seeking permission from the SqueekySynth author.<p>

You are permitted to make as many copies for personal use as you
desire. These copies may be modified freely, although the modified
copies of SqueekySynth may not be distributed. Modifying the binary may result in unexpected results; the SqueekySynth author absolutely cannot be held responsible for anything that may go wrong, including but not limited to legal action as a result of patent infringement, software or hardware damage, data loss, or injury of any kind.<p>
You may make derivative works of SqueekySynth for personal use,
but you are not permitted to distribute them.<p>

If any element of the legal section is found to be unenforceable,
this does not invalidate the remaining elements.<p>
The SqueekySynth author reserves rights to alter or adapt the legal section at
any time, and/or make changes to SqueekySynth and/or supplied documentation and/or supplied library, without notice.<p>
